Danny Aldred - Event Curator and organiser.
Danny Aldred is a visual artist and graphic designer. His role for NAOMB has been central in its conception, organization and planning. He works as a Senior Teaching Fellow on the Graphic Arts program at Winchester School of Art and runs Book-Lab. His visual art practice is informed by a decade of commercial experience as a graphic designer within the publishing industry.
Recent work explores the perception of the book and its transformation in the 21st century. Projects include; ‘(arrivals) 3531 miles and back again’, Street Road Gallery, Cochranville, Pennsylvania, USA 2013. This project consists of an evolving, living bookwork running for 26 weeks and is concerned with ideas of reproduction, distribution, and placement. Other project include; ‘The backs of books’ as part of the ACE exhibition at the Freies Museum in Berlin 2012; ‘Fantasies of Escapism and Containment’ solo exhibition 2012; Rosebud no.7 Very Funny, edited by Ralf Hermes, published by Verlag für moderne Kunst, Nurnberg 2010; group exhibition and publication, Art of the Book, Gallery 210, University of Missouri, St. Louis, USA 2010.
